Delete Your Vitark Account
This page explains how to delete your Vitark.ai account and the data associated with it, what is removed and when, and the limited categories of data we are required by law to keep for a defined period. It reflects our Privacy Policy — where this page and the Privacy Policy differ, the Privacy Policy governs.
You have two ways to delete your account, plus the option to delete individual research sessions without closing your account.
1. Delete your account in the app
The fastest way to delete your account is in the Vitark app itself:
- Open the Vitark app and sign in.
- Go to the Account tab.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted.
What happens when you delete your account:
Your account, profile, and research sessions are removed from the app immediately and sign-in is disabled. For 30 days we keep a recoverable copy so that you can ask us to restore the account if you deleted it by mistake. After 30 days, that data is permanently deleted or anonymised, except for the limited records described in Section 5 that we must retain to comply with law.
2. Delete your account by email
If you cannot access the app, you can ask us to delete your account by email:
- Email us at grievance@vitark.ai from the email address registered on your account.
- Use the subject line "Account deletion request".
We acknowledge every request within 72 hours of receipt and complete deletion within 30 days, mirroring the timelines in our Privacy Policy. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder before we act on it.
3. Delete individual research sessions
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove your research history. From within the app you can delete any individual research session at any time, which removes that session's queries, prompts, notes, uploaded files, and generated outputs while keeping your account active.
4. What data is deleted
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise the personal data we hold about you, subject to the legal-retention exceptions in Section 5. This mirrors the data categories set out in Section 2 of our Privacy Policy:

We never collect card numbers, CVVs, banking credentials, or biometric identifiers, so there is nothing of that kind for us to delete.
5. What we must retain, and for how long
Some records cannot be deleted immediately because Indian tax, accounting, and grievance-handling law requires us to keep them for a defined period. This mirrors the retention table in Section 8 of our Privacy Policy:

These retained records are held under access controls and are not used to rebuild your account or profile. Once the applicable retention period ends, they are deleted or anonymised.
